Pekin is administered by a Council-Manager form of government, with a seven-person City Council. The council consists of a Mayor, elected at large to a four-year term, and six Council Members elected at large to four-year terms.

Each application received will be evaluated by the Mayor, the City Manager, and the department head who works most closely with the commission, board, or committee. If you are selected, the Mayor will propose your
appointment at a meeting of the Council subject to ratification by the Council. We will let you know of our
decision before the meeting takes place.
