About the Administration
Pekin is administered by a Council-Manager form of government, with
a seven-person city council. The council consists of a mayor, elected at large to a
four-year term, and six council members elected at large to four-year terms. An appointed professional city manager
oversees the day to day operations of city government. Government is headquartered
in City Hall located in the heart of downtown Pekin.
