THANK YOU for considering to recycle in Pekin!!

PLEASE NOTE: The SALE on recycling roll out carts has concluded. Carts can still be purchased at their regular rate of $40. If you sign up below, there will be no additional charge to your monthly collection fees. However, you will make a one-time purchase of $40 (billed on the following month's wastewater billing) to cover the cost of a 64-gallon roll-out cart. Once you sign up, your name will go on a list to have a roll-out cart distributed to you, pending availability of carts in stock (new ones will be ordered if we run out).

Each week, city crews pick up garbage for over 11,000 residential units. Of those units, approximately 60% recycle. Your participation will help to improve that statistic. Recycling has many benefits (see box at right). It also helps create more efficiency by: 1) lowering costs that are paid to dump solid waste/garbage at the landfill; 2) reducing transportation costs to haul garbage to the landfill; and 3) integrating more automation into the solid waste collection process so that city employees can stay healthier (by not lifting heavy bins).

	I acknowledge and agree that depending on availability, a recycling roll-out cart may not be immediately available if the current stock of carts held by the City is fully distributed on a first come first serve basis. An ongoing roster of interested participants will be compiled from this website and sign-ups documented through City Hall or the City's Street Department. Should the City have to order additional carts, I am willing to wait for my cart when a new shipment of carts arrives for the City to distribute.
