The City of Pekin Transportation Department consists of three divisions, School Bus, Public Transportation (provided by CityLink) and Vehicle Maintenance.

The City of Pekin School Bus division is dedicated to safely transporting more than 4,000 students per day to and from school and on special trips throughout the school year and operates 85 school busses daily. Ty Whitford is the Superintendent of Transportation for the City of Pekin and has a staff of over 120 employees serving the children of Pekin every day.
The City of Pekin School Bus division provides transportation to all students living within the School District 108 and School District 303 boundaries on behalf of the school districts and per their District guidelines as well as those of the Illinois Safe Ride Division at the Secretary of State’s Office. The City of Pekin also provides bus services to students at Schramm Education Center, Kiefer School, homeless students and to children attending St. Josephs or Good Shepherd living within the District 108 and District 303 boundaries.
