HOW TO WATCH CITY COUNCIL MEETINGS UNDER SOCIAL DISTANCING

On March 20, 2020, Governor Pritzker issued an Executive Order (2020-10) that restricted gatherings to no more than 10 people.
There is, however, a regularly scheduled meeting tonight (3/23/2020) of the Pekin City Council.
This meeting will be limited in attendance by the Mayor, City Clerk, City Manager and key staff/personnel to operate the audio-visual broadcast of the meeting.
Council members plan to participate by teleconferencing in, which is now allowed pursuant to a recent Governor’s Executive Order (2020-07).

With limited seating capacity, the public is therefore encouraged to participate in the City Council meeting in the following ways:

1. WATCH. Channel 22 will run the city council meeting as normal.

2. LISTEN. Citizens can call into the council meeting by dialing 1-888-788-0099 or (312) 626-6799 and entering in the Meeting ID number: 689 803 5689#. Once entered, you then join the meeting in “listen-only” mode.

3. PROVIDE INPUT. During the “public comment” portions of the meeting, citizens can also provide input by clicking on the following website link (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6898035689).

Once the Zoom window is loaded onto a computer, select “Done” to cancel out any Audio Conference Options window and select the “Chat” option at the bottom.

A chat window will appear at the right-side. Enter your message at the bottom of this chat window where it states “Type message here…”.

4. PHONE APP. Apple and Android apps for Zoom are also available to provide the same interactive functionality for citizens.
