In the last week, the City of Pekin has experienced extreme temperature changes, freeze-and-thaw cycles and heavy rain. Combined, these activities put greater stress on our roadways.  Water and melting snow/ice infiltrate into cracks, expand and then create the various pot holes we see today.

The City's Street Department has two (2) crews working full shifts daily to fill pot holes throughout the city, with priority going to major routes. Residential streets will have secondary priority on a call-in-reporting basis. Once a pothole is reported, a work order will be issued and the pot hole will be addressed as soon as feasible.

Please report any potholes you see to the Streets Department at 309-477-2325.
