K-9 Bow
In June 2001, K9 Bow was donated to the Pekin Police Department. Officer Chad Hazelwood was assigned as his partner. Officer Hazelwood
and Bow will focus mainly on the area of drug detection.
K-9 Jovi(Retired)
K-9 Jovi came to us in June of 1998. In his first year, K-9 Jovi had 80 drug finds, resulting in 79 arrests. Jovi was used in 25
Officer safety situations, 9 building searches, 8 tracks (2 resulted in finds), and 7 public relations demonstrations.
In 1999, as Jovi gained experience his expertise has really begun to show. Jovi is already responsible for several felony arrests,
including 2 that were direct results of his tracking a suspect from a scene. Had it not been for the K-9 team, these suspects could have
very possibly got away and been able to commit more crimes.
The Pekin Police Department is very fortunate to have two dedicated officers in Jeff Stolz and Chad Hazelwood as its K-9 Officers.
