schoolsRecognized for academic accomplishments and innovative teaching initiatives, Pekin schools offer top quality education to area families. At every level, Pekin schools are committed to providing a diverse academic curriculum, opportunities to explore the arts, and access to the latest in technology. In fact, for many residents of Pekin, the excellent education system is the main reason they chose to make Pekin their home.

The Pekin Public School System consists of six elementary, two intermediate, two junior high schools, one high school and the Pekin Technical Education Center. In District 108 classrooms, which encompass preschool through eighth grade, technology is key with computer workstations, a teacher laptop workstation, a printer, Internet access, a large computer monitor and a smart board all enhancing the learning experience.  At Pekin Community High School (PCHS), District 303, students can choose from over 125 different academic courses and more than 45 career-oriented courses. The high school campus covers over 550,000 square feet and includes two large gyms and an Olympic-sized, 8-lane swimming pool.

Pekin also has several excellent parochial and private schools for parents who want to explore an alternative to public education.
