As the owner of a rewarding business in the fitness industry, Councilmember Cloyd decided to run for City Council to payback the community that supported her when she was a single mother raising five daughters.  While working multiple jobs to make ends meet, she gained experience in a variety of occupations, including real estate, barter and trade, therapist, addiction recovery facilitator and church administrator/counseling.  Councilmember Cloyd spent the first 12 years of her life as a resident of Pekin, before moving South.  Since returning to Pekin in 2006, she has earned a B.S. in Psychology and a M.A. in Counseling. All five of Councilmember Cloyd's children graduated from Pekin Community High School and she recently welcomed her first grandson. Her husband, Paul, is her number one supporter and she would not be where she is today without him.
