Combined Sewer Overflow

Weather conditions have caused a combined sewer overflow.  Please avoid all contact with waters in or near a combined sewer outlet area along the Illinois River. 

Signs are posted to identify Combined Sewer Overflow Outfalls and areas where contact with the water could be hazardous. Even in dry weather, it's best to avoid contact water in the combined sewer area.

The City of Pekin is implementing many projects to eliminate sewage overflows through our Long-Term Control Plan.

The following CSO Outfalls may have been active on August 2, 2022:

• State Street CSO Outfall
• Court Street CSO Outfall 
• Fayette Street CSO Outfall
